My name is Ruta and I, along with Dragons, Spirit of Cacao, Lady Gaia, am a creator of 1020 (or maybe it’s just Thems creating through me?? lol)
On a human level this is me making my teenage dream come true’ish…:) there is so much depths to this, its hard to even put it in words!
Below you can read few paragraphs of what I wrote couple years ago, when 1020 was probably still in a form of download in my head, most likely did not even have a name and a bit of an edit about a year ago. I was very different person then and after but I think these are cute stories if you’d like to read them.
1020 is ME. Lets begin with the NAME- 10(month of October)-20(th day) is when I was born. 1020 is weaving my creative expressions, my inner work, my healing(s) journey, life lessons so far (so many major ones tought by my Cat, now spirit guide Zeus), my CARE and LOVE and so much more, TOGETHER.
So many layers to the story now that everytime I tried to sit down and write something here, I did not know how to express myself (that’s not so typical for me these days :))
Today must be special, so lets document this- today is October 9th, 2024. I am in Vilnius, Lithuania, where I was born and grew up, currently sitting in my old room (it still has bright green walls), at the desk where I used to do homework, WOW! Did not think about this loop looping around till now…!
How It All Started?
I wanted to create clothes that I could not find to buy- made from sustainable fabrics, local, intentional, feel good, Planet friendly, statement and below big designer names prices.
unique/statement/dress up pieces, sweatshirts (to start), pants and more following soon, somewhat inspired by the idea of Adidas originals (they were my favorites along with European Puma stuff since I was teenager) because they’re pieces you don't really want wear to the gym sweat sessions (you can of course if you like to dress up to your workouts) but rather take them out for a walk, dinner or an art show.

Another layer - the truth is, a lot of what’s out there is either plain boring or made from materials that contribute to water waste, unfair labor practices, and a heap of chemicals that are toxic to us and our planet. Not cool. We are changing that by joining all of the great qualities- statement/fun + sustainability/Earth friendliness vision and care for the future which means feel good inside and out- mind/soul and body- aka #healthyswag aka #greenswag aka #welcometothegoldenage. I say “WE” because just by reading this and giving it a though you already are making a difference, Amazing Human!
Reflecting on my childhood, I see the roots of my passion for fashion and creation. From sewing outfits for my Barbies, knitting, crocheting to drawing girls with outfits to a detail and finding myself predicting fashion trends a year or two ahead, creativity has always been a part of me. However, like many, I faced doubts and fears that held me back from pursuing my dreams in fashion.
Cute “lightbulb moment” - I am realizing as I am writing this I was using sustainable practices before i even knew it - using old clothes my grandma or mom would spare to sew clothes for dolls, using them to sew myself bracelets and clutches embroidering them with sequence, all by hand #hautecouture lol, also knitting myself sweaters and bags reusing yarn that i got from older “undid” sweaters knit by my mom or grandmother.
